You've got three ways to land your first client. Pick the one that scares you the least and start there.

Option 1, Walk In (Highest Close Rate)

Pick 3 visual service businesses near you. Med spas, salons, lash studios, tattoo shops, barbershops. Before you go, screenshot 3 to 5 of their unanswered comments or DMs.

Walk in during a slow time. Ask for the owner. Say this:

"Hey, I help businesses like yours respond to every Instagram DM, comment, and new follower automatically, so you stop losing bookings to people who don't get a reply. I noticed a few unanswered messages on your account. Mind if I show you what I mean?"

Show them the screenshots. Pull up a quick example. Let the work do the talking.

Option 2, Cold DM (Easiest If You Hate Walking In)

Find 10 local businesses on Instagram that fit the avatar. Slide into their DMs with this:

"Hey [Business Name] team! Quick one, I noticed your DMs and comments on your last few posts have a lot of "how much?" questions that haven't been answered yet. I help businesses like yours auto-reply to every DM, comment, and new follower so no booking slips through the cracks. Mind if I send a 30-second example of how it works?"

Short. Specific. Proves you actually looked at their account. That's what gets the reply.

Option 3, Cold Call (Fastest Way To Get A Yes)

Find their number on Google. Call during a slow time — mid-morning or mid-afternoon works best. When the owner answers say:

"Hey, this is [Your Name]. I'm not selling anything, I'm a local helping med spas and salons fix the missed Instagram DMs that are costing them bookings. I took a quick look at your account and saw a few. Got 2 minutes for me to show you how I'd fix it?"

If they say yes, send a quick text or DM with screenshots and a Loom video. If they say no, thank them and move on. Next call.

The Rule Of 100

If you do 100 outreaches every single day — whether that's walk-ins, cold DMs, or cold calls — you cannot fail. Math takes over. You don't need to be smooth. You don't need to be experienced. You just need to put the reps in.
